GENERAL SAFETY
* Wear a helmet! It is required for ages 16 and under. * Prepare for weather - wear appropriate attire - bring a water bottle - for rainy weather - bring an umbrella and/or a poncho * At night - wear reflective clothing and use lights * For emergency calls - use the lamppost number and mile markers for the location * Before leaving - tell someone you know when you will be back, in case of getting lost or needing to be picked up * Bring a cell phone - there are no pay phones on the trail. Move off the trail making a call.
